Welcome to My Blog
Hi, I’m Lorraine! Welcome to my Blog! I know you can see what I’ve done, and you can tell that enjoy what I do…I’ve been a photographer for longer than I am going to admit too…but what I will say is that I know my stuff! I’m not trying to sound like a smarty pants but I have taken hundreds of thousands of photos over the years, and I have photographed everything from mums-to-be to dinosaur heads made from glass so I have come across numerous lighting challenges and interesting subjects, but I am always more excited about my next photo project….you!
I love, love, love that aspect of my profession; getting to meet incredibly interesting people, with stories to tell, and hear about their life experiences, their dreams, their goals. My photo shoots are a blast, I have so much fun, and I hope my clients feel the same way too….if not, then I feel a bit of an idiot! Getting to know my clients, and to know how they see themselves, and what they want to get out of the photo shoot helps me to get them what they want. Win/Win!
Certain subjects; like products and food for example, have to be true to life because you want to know that what you see if what you will get, but others, especially portraits, I like to be artistic, that’s my thing and I was born to be creative! Sometimes the creative aspect can be in-camera, or by using an unusual setting, and sometimes it’s in post-production with the wizardry of photoshop. My earliest memories were of my love of drawing and at the age of 6 I would love to draw ducks. I would copy them from books, never from real life…they scared the hell out of me! I would meticulously work on the outline, then go crazy with the colouring and have neon coloured ducks sitting on a nest of daisies. Even at such a tender age the skills for photoshop were already developing!
So, there you have it. This is just a hint of what’s to come. I will be updating as I go, and tell you about any interesting, or challenging shoots that are coming my way. No one wants to do a journey alone, and I want to invite you along to share this with me. Maybe soon we will have a journey together. I hope so!
