I got to know the wonderful people at the DVSC after my husband and I adopted a Small Boston Terrier named Austin. Austin we believe was born with a deformity in his back legs that meant his hock’s did not form correctly. Dr Joanne Franks was amazing she took Austin under her care and after many surgeries she was able to rebuild his legs so he could lead a completely normal life. As a dog owner its not very often you get a chance to look behind the curtain at what happens during your pets visit. However Dr Franks asked if i would be available to help them update the photographs for the DVSC website. One aspect of the shoot was I was going to follow the treatment of a beautiful Husky named River. The accompanying slideshow takes River through the booking in procedure. post op examination, pre-op, the operation, recovery and the reuniting of River with her owners. It was a great privilege to be asked to work with the DVSC and witness first hand the exceptional care they offer. Check out their website for more photographs of the various shoots.
